3 September 2017: Father’s Day

Genuine love is the love that comes from God so it is this love that we as Christians must demonstrate. Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold onto what is good. This is the message of the Romans reading and then Paul continues to tell us how to show love that is genuine. Respect others, show hospitality, do not repay evil for evil, if it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Anger in the face of hostility only results in more hostility or violence, we must show love if we are to live in peace in this world that God has created for all who live in it.

Although not born in Australia, I have lived here for 30 years mostly in Central Queensland, including 25 years in Mackay. Two years ago I moved to Brisbane after being accepted as a candidate for ministry. I am studying my Bachelor of Theology and attend training at Trinity College in Auchenflower. I did a student placement at Tarragindi Uniting Church last year and am spending this year at Cleveland. I live with my dog and cat and do patchwork for fun.
